Good Men
Cry
It was graduation day
And Dad was in the crowd
I saw him wipe his eyes and then,
I knew I'd make him proud
I said, 'Dad, is that a tear
that I see in your eye?'
He said, 'No, my child
Grown up men don't cry'
'It must have been a speck of dust
That caught me passing by,
I'm so proud of you today
This is no time to cry'
Daddy's tears said so much more
Than what he spoke aloud
Such a gentle giant was he
That he stood out in any crowd
He stood six feet three, you know
And he told me men don't cry
But every time I made him proud
He got something in his eye
