Cherokee ~
Grandmother was a
Cherokee
And folks loved her
from all around
She had a gentle way
about her
Her path was always
heaven bound
In the night she was
always there to
comfort
With loving kindness
and gentle care
Her ways much
different than ours
nowadays
But you can bet her
love was always
there
As I grew older and
watched her age
She became more
beautiful to me
Her face lined by
life's history page
Eyes mirrored
wisdom brightly
Among the greatest
things she taught me...
Three things come to
mind
Respect for the
Elders and pride of
family
To love Mother Earth
and all mankind
And to walk my path
honorably
She has gone to be
with Great Spirit
But her loving touch
is felt from time to
time
Her stories and
wisdom she left
behind
I'm so proud
