~ Heroes ~
 
 Heroes are brave people
They save lives every day
We call them doctors and nurses
But some are forgotten along the way.



These men and women
Are the first upon the scene
Giving comfort with words and touch
Always gentle and never mean.

The lives they so often save
The lives they too often lose
Every day they see it all
This is the life they choose.



Not for glory or recognition
For they seldom do get any...
Except for the people they see
And they are so many.

So thank you paramedics
One saved my life one day
I do not know his name
But his face will always stay.



You are the unsung heroes
The champions of our lives.
The young man or woman
Who helped a child, dad, or wife.

Your gentle and strong hand
Holding steadfastly to mine
And a reassuring look of hope
Saying now is not my time.



Your bravery encourages
You never run from strife
You are the men and women
The marines in the war of life.
