Before you lay your head to rest
Lean upon the Savior's breast
Thank Him for the day that's past
Ask for His protection while night lasts
As the night is long and dark
His watchful eye will be on you
Keeping dangers all at bay
While peaceful sleep around you lay
Then night is gone, now comes the dawn
He's blessed and kept you all night long
So bow your head in thankful prayer
He stayed with you while you were there!
Pledge to Him your self today
For chores all needed on the way
Maybe some lost soul to bring
Introducing him to Christ the King
Together My great Lord and I
Will travel on toward the sky
