~ Homeless ~
Remember me as you pass by
I too used to savor each day
But things have happened in my life
To make me look and feel this way.
Sadness has darkened my door so much
There's days I don't want to go on
I used to hold my head up high
I was like you - I used to be strong.
My spirit for life has long left me
I've been cast along the wayside
I don't know where to turn anymore
I've managed to swallow my pride.
I've lost my job, my family and home
I'm homeless and I have no one
Dear God help me to see the light
Please help me to see the sun.
The light that is now enveloping me
Has captured my very soul
He's filled me with his holy radiance
He's once again made me whole.
I'm here to tell you of my plight
And how the Lord has awakened me
I've turned my life completely around
Praise the Lord he's allowed me to see.
