~ I Do Want To Dance ~
I do so want to dance
But how to escape into
release to find,
A freedom in my soul
That serene peaceful
state of mind.
I do so want to dance
Though I may not really twirl about,
But, I wish to sing deep
down inside
So it will burst right out.
I do so want to dance
But what of my life still
holds me down
Where is the secret key to
joy,
How can it be found.
I do so want to dance
Not from tripping over
another titillation,
A tempting Turkish delight
Of short-lived anticipation.
For I do so want to dance
With a smile for the days
ahead,
To laugh like a child
with hope for tomorrow
And by true love be led.
I do so want to dance
Without expecting another
one to please,
For I may be all alone
With nothing more to tease.
Oh, I do so want to dance
I have hunted everywhere to
find,
Something, someone, to take
me by the hand
Secure for all time.
I do so want my heart to
dance
But, at last I realize I
cannot make it all alone,
Lord Jesus, forgive me, hold
me close now
And lift me as Your own.
