Raining Leaves ~
I
watch a leaf start to cascade
Down and down it goes
Like a raindrop from Heaven above
The wind takes it where it blows.
Eventually it winds up on the ground
It has loosened its grip from the
tree
Look up to the sky high above
And you'll see it's raining leaves.
So many now are tumbling down
Listen and you'll hear them speak
The rustlings of the leaves start to
echo
And will continue throughout the
week.
For autumn has announced its arrival
And soon the trees will be stripped
bare
The leaves will create a carpet of
colors
And no single leaf will be spared.
Soon this season will be gone
The trees will be etchings in the
sky
Stark and naked they will be
As autumn says good-bye.
Old Man Winter will bluster through
And blanket the ground with snow
Frigid temperatures will make us
shiver
No more leaves for the wind to blow.
