I woke up this morning so early
The day was beginning to break
I could hear the beautiful song birds
God's creatures were up and awake
The quiet of the day still around me
I had time to listen a while
As each sound came to my ears
It filled me with joy, gave me a smile
God's sharing the things that I miss
While I'm too caught up in my day
He wants us all to slow down a bit
And enjoy His creation this way
No need to be in a rush
We miss so many blessings He gives
I lifted my eyes up to heaven
And praised Him because He still lives
I arose from my bed
And started to line up my day
But before actually going into it
I knelt at my bed side and prayed
The day then went good for me
I felt the joy of the Lord
I'd been saturated with His goodness
On my path His sunshine poured
