~ A Life Journey ~
Today we shall honor
Grandfather
Who was a faithful man,
He gave his life to care for
others
A hero of this land.
As just a lad of seven
He was left alone to fend,
For his older brothers all
day
As into a coal mine they
would descend.
But there the black lung
gripped
A raging cough to keep,
So bravely as a mail man,
then he toiled
Struggling on a mule up
mountains steep.
He married his beloved Polly
To become the father of
many,
Faithfully laboring
To save up every penny.
The years rolled on by
Each child grew and moved
away,
To carry on
Grandfathers love
So blessed until this day.
His sisters and grand
daughter were so brave
His last illness they did
tend,
As he waited for his home call
They nursed him 'til the
end.
We, the grandchildren honor
the treasure
The love that we have had,
Forever to cherish in our
heart
The memory of our great
Grand-dad.
For now he is happy in
his rest
Enjoying delight
forevermore,
In eternity where there is
no toil
Rewarded on the heavenly
shore.
The righteous perish
and no-one ponders it in his
heart..
devout men are taken away, and no-one understands,
that the righteous are taken away
to be spared from evil.
Those who walk uprightly enter
into peace,
they find rest as they lie in
death
