Light of the world
From infinity of uncreated light
The angels watched Him leave,
Still downward through the galaxies
Another life to live.

He laid aside His glory
The glory of His crown,
He left behind His throne
He wanted to come down.

Descending from the height
His radiance depleted,
Stepping from infinity
For death to be defeated.

He knew of His destination
A speck of tiny land
Only He could enter the destruction
Planned by created man.

He landed on the dark side
for He arrived at night,
Where the darkness exploded into glory
With such angelic light.

To the dark He came
With heart so full of grace,
Then His radiance exposed the sin,
Of wanting gold and glory
But rejecting all of Him.

He knew they would hunt Him
Down within their night,
To extinguish deep compassion
To destroy the purity of right.

With perfect love, He chose that death
To bring heaven to the hearts that fight,
So He can return to His glory
All those who see the light.
