~ Mary ~

She held her baby in her arms
only moments from his birth.
She wondered of his mission,
and why he had come to earth.

A part of her was frightened,
as any new mother might be,
who held in her arms the Savior
of all of humanity.

She watched her son grow up,
unable to guard him from hate.
I know she cried many tears,
as she wondered about his fate.

And then one day she trembled,
tears flooded from her eyes;
Oh the courage of this great woman,
for she saw her beloved son die.

Mary, you taught me so much
with your faith in our Father above.
I stand in awe and wonder,
as I realize the strength of your love.
