~ Mary's Baby ~

Mary had a mother's heart
When she heard Jesus' cry,
I'm sure she picked Him up
And brushed the tears from His eyes.

Many nights I do believe
She must have walked the floor,
Baby Jesus was not tired
He wanted to play some more.

Like all other children
Jesus liked to play,
But when Mary called Him
I'm sure He did obey.

I've tried to imagine in my mind
How Mary could have felt,
While she watched her baby boy
Grow to be an adult.

Mary's heart grew heavier
As Jesus grew and grew,
She had known right from the start
What He was born to do.

So when her baby Jesus,
Now grown into a man
Began to do the things
His heavenly Father planned,

Her heart was, oh so broken
But I'm sure she understood-
When the angel gave the message
God already knew she would.
