~ Memories Are Forever ~
You, touched a soul you passed
today
And, though you didn't know,
The gentle words you uttered
there
Warmed them with lasting glow.
Just enough, to lift their
spirit
At the very needed time,
When they were feeling all
alone
Bereft, with life unkind.
You blessed a soul you touched
this day
By, just a simple smile,
When you looked them in the
eye
'Twas then, they felt
worthwhile.
You gathered up their fallen
fragments
As you passed so quickly by,
Unaware their need for love
Was calling in unspoken cry
You didn't realize God would
use you
To protect them from the fear,
Collapsing in life's frailty
E'er holding back the tears.
You didn't know their name,
nor face
But, they needed to know you,
Calling for a hand to gently
reach
With love that would be true.
Oh, would they ever walk this
path
Unloved, if we all play our
part
If, when brushing by someone
each day
We share a little heart.
