Memories ~
To be held closely, briefly in your strong, warm arms,
To know your magic looks and feel your sweet charms.
To put my arms around you, and on your cheek to kiss,
To run my fingers through your hair, and know my touch you'll miss.
To see that look on your face and in your deep brown eyes,
To know you can't hide it, no matter how hard you try;
To be near you, to hear you laugh and play your music and sing,
To feel for a moment that, to you, I truly mean something.
To hear your sweet voice when at last you call,
To know that to you, I could give my all!
To dream of a time that may or may not come,
To think of greater things with that special someone.
I don't know if these things may or may not come true.
But I do know that they could only be that way with you!
So, don't be afraid, my dear, I'm taking it slow.
I'll savor every moment together until I DO know!
And if it is never to come, never meant to truly be,
If there can never come a time for only you and me,
I'll have this time, though brief it may become,
To put in my memories of my special someone!
And in years that come slowly to pass, but do not fade,
I'll have a precious memory book of my heart I've made.
An album I can take out whenever I fell sad and lonely.
A picture of treasured memories of my one and only!
