Messenger of Love
Dad, you infused all of my life
With rich color in the night
Filled my mind with imagination
To overflow my heart with light
You kept your quiet abiding presence
To wipe away the tears
A rock of strength to meet my needs
And calm my childhood fears
You stood up high to give your best
The life of you, to me
To show me goodness of our God
Then with wisdom set me free
My heart feels only gratitude
For all your daily care
Your trustworthy commitment
Was always gently there
And now, I pray I bring you joy
Whene'er you look at me
As a part of you remains forever
For you to always see
