In the early morning break of day
As the misty dew all melts away,
Come round up all my scattered heart
Draw close to me today.
In the warmest rays of daybreak
With the sun's light streaming through,
Diffuse all the star dust in my
mind
Replace it with a pretty view.
Let the soft wind of Your spirit
Unfurl a cool refreshing,
Until in your lovely presence
I find a sweet infilling.
Lasso my wildest imaginings
Pull me near into your love,
Tie my flighty thoughts to yours
Until you know it is enough.
Then, when you know my heart is tamed
Settled in Your perfect will,
You will be glad to set me free
Your loveliness unveiled, Your light
so visible.
With feet to take me where I'd go
With eyes to see the morning glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
