I'm so glad you took the time
To send your love to me,
It takes a special heart
To make a friendship be.

There are many beautiful friends
We wish could all be close,
How much we want to visit
Those we love the most.



But, with our lives to live
Our families needing care,
We just cannot find the time
For being here and there.

Today I have you on my heart
As I have, since to my life you came,
For though I cannot always keep in touch
I still love you just the same.



Great is the joy we share
This understanding that we know,
That we are held by God in heart
No matter where we go.

In the eons of everlasting time
One day we will be swept together,
Then we will celebrate our friendship
A blessing to forever treasure.
