New Year Light

every

now and

then I so wish

I was near to God

Loved especially as I

am, with a hug so

warm and close

Every now

n'then

wish I could

hear the secrets,

to know the meaning

of it all and trust, no

matter what the call.

Every now and then

I wish my spirit could

burn so free to not be

burdened by the grief

Around us constantly

Every now and then

I wish I could forget

my limitations and be

bright as a light today

for the good of others to help

them just a little more along their way.

Every now and then, I wish I could forget about myself a lot more

and think only of another's need, to reach out with a love

in deed to share the eternal joys of our dear Jesus

He came to give when He left His home above.

Every now and then, while I am wishing

And sitting still, it all blends into one,

and I hear a whisper My child rest
peacefully in Me now, for My will is done.

Go glow little candle with His love

Soft Whispers from

Jesus bids us shine with a clear pure light

Like a little candle burning in the night

In this world of darkness we must shine

You in your small corner and I in mine.

I said to a man who stood at the gate of the year:

"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown";

and he replied,

"Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.

That shall be to you better than a light and safer than a known way!"
