~ For Once In My Life ~
A great divide ~ had gripped my soul
It held me tight ~ my peace it stole
My breath to gasp ~ I wandered sore
Until He came ~ my heart to call
He bridged the gap ~ with loving arms
He reached for me ~ with healing balm
In love He came ~ His heart was torn
To bring me home ~ to greet the dawn
Across the gulf ~ He sank to death
To bring me light ~ the darkness spent
He stood me safe ~ upon His path
With Shepherds staff ~ He found my heart
This life for once ~ has turned from night
To lose the fear ~ that held me tight
Now I can twirl ~ the night away
My heart knows love ~ to keep always
