~ Open A Door ~
I met a stranger today
While I was doing my chores
I smiled and spoke with kindness
I must have opened a door
A door that Jesus wants us to
By things we do and say
'Cause it was not long before
That stranger again came my way
And very quickly spoke
Before I could speak again
In my heart I felt the Lord
Say, will you invite her in?
And befriend this one so lonely
And apparently very poor
I could see it in her face
And by the clothes she wore
The need for someone to care
Some place to lay her head
Nice fresh clothes to wear
Food enough until she's fed
Now all of this I speak of
I had within my power
So I gave it, as unto the Lord
And a soul was changed that hour
She felt the love of God
Shine through as she was blessed
By the kindness of a friend
God always knows what's best
