~ Remember Us ~
Bombs exploding in the air
Insurgents hate us, they don't care
Trying to do what is right
Bring them from darkness, into the light.
Buddies being wounded right and left
The smell of gunsmoke, the smell of death
Praying to God up above
Deliver them from evil, show them love.
Trying to bring freedom to this land
Braving the heat and the sand
Wishing they could all come home
That place is evil, they feel so alone.
Remember them on this Memorial Day
So much has been lost to pave the way
So many have suffered and paid the price
In the stillness of night you can hear their cries.
All they want is this war to end
To come back home to family and friends
So pray for them and don't forget
What all you enjoy is due to our vets.
