~ A Scottish Sorrow ~

I look o'er past the meadow
I close my eyes and imagine you're there
I feel the breeze caress my cheek
I open my eyes and continue to stare.

Each day and night passes so slowly
And loneliness begins to creep in
I go to stand by the gate
And wish for the yesterdays once again.

I walk through the fields thinking of you
The breeze makes the wheat begin to sway
A tear starts to roll down my cheek
And I wonder will I make it through this day?

My days no longer have any meaning
It's an existence with no purpose at all
I force myself to continue on
Our times together are getting harder to recall.

Oh how we both loved this place
The rolling hills and the country heather
Watching the sun rise and set
Arm in arm and always together.

But an act of God took you from me
You were so much a part of this place
Without you here by my side
The days get harder and harder to face.

So I will have to move away
Leave our memories and our home behind
In order for me to survive
A new life I will have to find.
