Made Prison ~
In the midst of darkness
I
hear a faint voice call
Asking me to join him
To tear down my brick wall.
"Come and stand beside me
Bask in the sun's golden rays
See what's outside your prison
of walls
Come see the light of day."
It all sounds so wonderful
But I'm not so quick to leave
I
feel so safe within these walls
The walls of make-believe.
You see it is a fortress
It's a wall that has a start
It goes on forever without end
It protects my feelings, my
heart.
It is a formidable object to
surmount
But if you want to take the
time
To break down this wall that I
created
You might be surprised at what
you could find.
There is a person living inside
Her heart is drowning in a sea
A
sea of loneliness and
uncertainty
This prison is holding me.
