Ah, but do you truly know
How very special now thou art,
With your tender loving care
There, to ever cheer my heart.
You shall laugh with me when I am glad
You hold my hand should I feel sad,
You cry with me, when all alone,
And lift me up when all goes wrong.
How could God know my need
of such a one that knows to care,
So when a day may turn too cold
You might His love so sweetly share.
And should my heart be feeling weak
I know you pray for me,
To show me what I can let go
And to what, my soul might cleave.
Through friends God shows His truest love
To give His best when we're in strife,
You bring a gentle comfort that is true
Right into my life.
