~ A Special Gift For Christmas ~
I am hoping for a special gift for Christmas
As I watch the snowflakes fall
Outside it is so quiet,
I can hear sleigh bells ring
Beyond my own front door
I am wishing on a Christmas star,
For a special gift
Which only our Lord Jesus can give
I say a prayer this wonderful day,
And it goes this way:
Dear Jesus, I love someone far away
In the desert sand, is where he stays
I never know, if this man I care for so
Will make it home,
To see the lights which surround my house
Or feel the freezing snow...
I never want to let my love go
Maybe if he comes, he will make a snowman
For our children to see
I know in his heart, he is loving me
So, Dear Jesus,
I am asking for a special Christmas gift
One that money cannot buy
May my soldier come home to me
And then we can sing
Instead of cry
A special Christmas gift is what I want most of all
As I stand here in the snow fall,
my hair white as e'er can be, suddenly...
I see in the distance, a lonely man coming to me
I start to run as fast as I can,
For Jesus has sent me my Christmas gift
My love, my one and only man.
