Every
stairway
holds sweet
expectation
For
what could wait
there-in,
And
great
is
the
suspense
Of all
that
may
be
seen.
We
savor
the
delight
of
life
While pondering
there upon
the
edge,
Letting
our
imagination
Satisfy
the
rest.
Will
it
hold
forth amazing
promise
Of
everything
we
dream,
Or
might
we
be
disappointed
For
whatever
could
have
been.
And
so
we
tremble
at
the
entrance
Wondering at
the
risk,
Are
we
ready
for
the
new
adventure
Is
it
really
for
the
best.
A
very
few
might
enter
boldly
Where
angels
fear
to
tread,
But
many
more
are
quite
afraid
And inclined
to walk
along
with
dread.
But,
however
we
may
be
We
all
meet
the
same
result,
What
we
find
may
not
be
as
we
planned
Not
that
we're
at
fault.
For
life
has
many
twisty
turns
And
the
clock
will
not turn
back
To
try
another
varied
way,
Which
would
lead
a
different
track.
Yet even
if
we
could
try
again
The
same
trials
may
come
our
way,
So
we
might
as
well keep on
the
path,
Just where
we
are
today.
God
has
such
a
special
purpose
For
everything
He
brings,
Molding
us
gently
to
His
likeness
To change
us
deep
within.
So
every
pathway
that
He
opens
We
can
safely
enter
in,
As the
agenda
for
all
He
loves
Is but
the
beautiful stairway
up
to
Him.

I
lay
my
head
upon
Thy
infinite
heart,
I
hide
beneath
the
shelter
of
Thy
wing;
Pursued
and
tempted,
helpless,
I
must
cling
To
Thee,
my
loving
Father; I
shall not
depart,
For
sins
sorrows
yet pursue,
And
Life
is
where
Thou
art!
