~ The Children ~
"Let the children come to Me,"
said the man from Nazareth.
Oh's and ah's came from the crowd,
this simple man preaching aloud.
Critics, Pharisees, utter, cry,
Just who is this young man of sighs?
Who thunders in temples, speaks of God,
friend of rich and poor, he's rather odd.
Compassion, love, gathers people to Him,
teaching commandments, worship, a hymn,
Praying daily on bended knees,
showing the Way, truth, then the cross of trees.
Christ took all our sins upon his shoulders,
enduring pain, being forsaken, so misunderstood.
Eternity assured with faith and belief,
Remember he said,
"Let the children come to Me."
