~ The Promise ~
I know you're feeling bad, so sad
Your heart seems broken in two
I don't expect you to be glad
Just remember, I love you
Into each life some rain must fall
Sometimes it seems to gush
Can't hurry healing, after all
Which is fine, God is in no rush
Let clouds of grief, depression too
Hang awhile, overhead
No heart concessions to imbue
Sweet promises, instead
God promised, after clouds have gone
And gray skies have turned to blue
There will be stars to wish upon
Oh yes -- a rainbow too
So, like the sky, let your eyes cry
You've paid for it with love
You will be fine and I know why
Because of God, above
