~
To The Brave In Iraq ~
I salute the brave men and
women
Who fight in Iraq today
My thoughts are with you
always,
In my prayers you will
remain
You have fought for freedom,
You have given of your life
It is not easy to live in
the desert
In Iraq, to understand all
that is right
When Americans are wounded,
When all they see is raging
heat
It is hard to go on when you
are thirsty
No bed to put your head
Yet for all of us, your
blood you shed
I want you to know we are
proud of you all
Young men and women too
I wish I could shake your
hand
I feel I know all of you
To the brave men and women
Who lay down their very
lives
Dear Lord, comfort their
mothers, wives and children
Some of you have paid the
greatest price
I know you give your all
I can hear your heart and
see your faces too
For victory is won,
Because of you
We can live in freedom here
once more.
