~ My Unseen Friend ~

We haven't glanced into each
other's eyes as yet,
But I consider you my friend
and for that I am in debt.

I haven't heard the sound
your voice makes,
But I have experienced the caring
that real friendship takes.

I haven't observed the way you
walk or play or dress,
But none of these contribute to
what makes up friendliness.

I haven't wiped your brow when
you had a very high fever,
But I've sat at my computer thinking
I mustn't leave her

I know when you needed a hug
I wasn't right there,
But as soon as I heard your pain
I quickly bowed in prayer.

The times when it was me who was
most in need of a friend,
It was you who sat and read my words
and condolences you'd send.

It is in the giving and the taking that
friendships are formed you see,
It doesn't matter if our faces remain
in obscurity.

Let's face it my friend our faces
don't really matter at all,
It's having a friend on whom you
know you can call.

Knowing that just as we are loved
by our Precious Savior,
So too do friends accept us and
our weird behavior.

For we are each weird in our
own special way,
Each facing different obstacles through
which our friends help us pray.

My friends are reminders of how
much God loves me,
They continually help me
His love to see.

They get me through the
trials I face,
And always remind me God has
made a better place.

Thank you so much for being
my unseen friend,
We'll walk side by side through
eternity at this worlds end.
