~ Watch the Sunrise ~
The day dawned
cool and foggy,
As I stepped outside my door,
To take an early morning walk,
Like so many times before.
I walked on over to the park,
Just to see what I could see.
I sat and watched two squirrels,
As they came down an oak tree.
They seemed to have no worries,
As they scampered on the ground.
But just as fast as they came
down,
They were back up with a bound.
The sun was just coming up
As I walked on down the road.
Then I stood there in the
stillness,
To watch it’s glory unfold.
There’s something about the
sunrise,
When the first rays start to
show,
That makes everything so
peaceful;
I just love watching it , so.
I came upon the graveyard,
And stopped to say a prayer,
For the ones that will miss
them,
Because now they’re sleeping
there.
The time, it was getting late,
As I headed back toward home.
But I love my early morning
walks,
And tomorrow, again I’ll roam.
