Carry me away beyond today
On Your wings of flight,
Lift my spirit to the sky
Where the sun is bright.
Then I can walk with joy
My footsteps every day,
On wings so light and carefree
To carry me away.
No matter then, the waves of grief
They cannot weigh me down,
I know true peace within
For heaven's love I found.
I may not leave my sorrows
Nor burdens that I bear,
But joy rests deep inside
To overshadow every care.
The winds may blow and dark clouds pour
On days that I may mourn,
But safe within the harbor
I am sheltered in the storm.
A lightness settles in my spirit
For in the grace of God I stand,
He holds my every moment
Safe in His loving hand.
No heartache for tomorrow
As all my struggles cease
For the miracle of life has come
I fly on wings of peace.
