~ Winter's Chill ~


Winter's chill in the north can be so hard
Two months of thirty below is the norm
Takes so much time to warm up the car
Have to shovel it out after a deep winter storm

But when the season is just at it's start
Days are warmer in the snow's shining beauty
You can see the majesty of God's wondrous art
Light snow prettily covering the streets of our city

Oh to enjoy those frigid nights of staying up late
The sky around abounding with dancing color
Such a show, it is well worth the cold wait
To see more showers of the Lord's awesome wonder

For these beauties that we endure in freezing pain
Also give us long nights to keep us inside
Two people together all night and even through the day
All the love we share makes the cold worthwhile

I have found that comforting love in the form of you
Warming my heart, as my soul you fill
My love so sure with all you say and do
I know this can protect me from any winter chill
