~ Wonder Of A Summer Day ~
Oh the wonder and the warmth
Of a brand new summer's day
Makes me want to be a kid again
Who just wants to run and play.
I would love to let my hair down
And take off my socks and shoes
And chase the pretty butterflies
Or spend a day at the petting zoo.
I would like to lay upon my back
And watch the clouds roll right on by
And try to guess what shape they are
Whether they be bears or birds or kites.
I would love to run barefoot on the lawn
And feel the warmth of the sun on my face
Or maybe I would play a game of pretend
That I was a princess in some far off place.
Oh if I could be a child within my mind
There is plenty of things I would do
Like swimming in my own little pool
Or playing games with friends like you.
